This desk came from a mistake. The contractor added a concrete wall on the right side that was not on the plans. Instead of adding time and cost to the project, I suggested a built-in desk, and now it’s the owner’s favorite part of the room.
This is a basement of a 1920s house. The original ceilings were a little over 7-feet high. We lowered the floor to build new higher ceilings and also create a better connection to the rear yard, which is lower in elevation. The owners have great taste and picked out all the light fixtures.
